You should verify your email.
reddit rate limits new accounts, and also older accounts when posting to a new subreddit you haven't interacted with much. As you accumulate karma in that subreddit, the rate limit will be relaxed.
Rate limiting is a reddit policy. The app cannot control the rate limits.
